Breakfast at Cafe Selma

Posted by pwp on July 10, 2010

This has become the place to be on Friday mornings here in Ann Arbor. I am talking of Cafe Selma, of course! Jeff and Lisa are opening up their home for this “local-foods breakfast salon”. Each week a different cook creates a unique menu with most ingredients coming from local areas. The goal is to create a real sense of community from the food to the people.

This works thanks to the help of fantastic volunteers and generous donations. Christine was the Chef for this week and I can truly say that this was a great success.  On the menu, you could choose from a buckwheat crepe with sunny side up egg served with bacon or sausage and hoop house greens or a delicious cherry clafoutis with raspberry coulis & bacon or sausage, Chantilly cream and almond brittle… There was also some peach bread pudding with raspberry sauce. Tough choice!

The service is excellent: friendly and professional.

Happy after a delicious and healthy breakfast!
