Peony Garden – one of Ann Arbor’s jewels
Posted by pwp on June 26, 2008
Want to get a sneak peek of how the 4th of July Fireworks is going to be? Well just go the Peony Garden located in the Nichols Arboretum. No need to look up in the sky cause the Peonies are in full bloom right now (well 2 weeks ago…). And what a treat for the eyes!
Every year we always try to make it to this amazing garden and this year I used my super-wide lens for all the shots (16-35mm f2.8L). This gives the feeling of being in the shot and just makes the whole place more dramatic.
Just wanted to take a break from the festival of colors…
Let’s move on and take a path to some gorgeous rhododendrons (I’d loose at Spelling Bee with that one!)
And let’s end on this cool backlit Peony with this lovely pink tone….
Since our friends Rafael and Jena also joined us, I had to finish the shoot with a couple of fun portraits.

The photos are so captivating. I particularly like the one with the sun shining over the rhododendrons as well as the backlit pink peony – so magical 🙂
